Osaka is a loud, direct city, which makes the quiet start worthwhile. A private tea ceremony with a practising host takes about an hour, and you are shown the movements rather than watched performing them.
From there the day widens out: the castle and its park, the covered arcades, and Dotonbori once the signs come on.

- No. Low chairs are available, and we let the host know in advance so the room is set up before you arrive.
- Can you collect us from a Kyoto hotel?
- Yes, for an added transfer charge. Tell us your hotel and we will quote it.
- Is Dotonbori manageable with a stroller?
- The main strip is very crowded after 19:00. We usually visit at 17:30 with a stroller, which is calmer.
